TrailBlazer Pet Supply is currently seeking an Inventory Specialist to supervise the movement, storage, and control of the store’s inventory needs. The Inventory Specialist is responsible for planning and implementing activities related to the products purchased, inventory control, shipping/receiving and storage functions. This person must have excellent time management skills, be self-motivated with excellent organization skills and impeccable attention to detail.
Duties Include, but are not limited to:
Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures and inventory control systems.
Collaborate with the assistant manager/buyer to ensure products and materials are ordered and in stock to meet company requirements, while maintaining acceptable inventory levels.
Develop product and material schedules and coordinates the efficient movement of inventory with purchasing operations.
Maintain all aspects of product movement in and out of the business, including the reimbursement of lost, damaged or returned products.
Work with the Assistant Manager/Buyer to manage vendor relations in order to find TrailBlazer the best products and prices available on the market.
Collaborate with the Assistant Manager/Buyer to maintain the POS (Macintosh bases) ordering control system for up to date ordering practices, information, & trainings.
Responsible for the integrity of all inventory data transactions, related to inventory accuracy.
Pricing & stocking of all incoming product and shelf replenishments.
Maintain a neat, clean, and organized warehouse.
Assist customers with questions & check out customers at register.
Some placing of small orders may be required
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (Verbal and written).
Knowledge of inventory auditing, tracking and yearly compliance.
Detail oriented with exceptional skills in record keeping and product maintenance.
Great attention to detail, highly organized and able to handle multiple tasks.
Additional Knowledge & Skills
Working knowledge of inventory policies, practices and systems
Demonstrates strong leadership skills and experience with employee engagement
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or Google Docs including, Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Knowledge of Macintosh
Knowledge and interest in the animal related products and services
General office demands
Standing for long periods of time
The employee is required to perform warehouse tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds repeatedly
Capable and comfortable working around and with dogs and cats on a daily basis
Wages & Hours
Minimum wage to start (probation period), increase in wage based on experience. Raises based on merit. Applicant must have a flexible working schedule, due to set ordering times, applicant may have either a morning or afternoon shift, hours ranging from 15-20 hours to start.
